Lovely to see a big excavator working .I was quarry fitter in earlier days. I loved working on the heavy stuff,and loved watching them work when I could. If I finished a vehicle when I was working late,I would have a try at working it.But I never got enough practice on them to be able to use them like this guy. He’s really good. It's rare to see such efficient excavation work. Operator doesn't rush or hurry, and every movement is smooth, precise, maximises load and minimises operating costs. The machine is never idle. A pleasure to see.
I worked at a small retreading company for about 6 years retreading truck tires. They also retreaded car tires, but stopped in the late 90s due to less demand. Truck tires, on the other hand, are always in demand. It was tiring and heavy work and very hot. One guy scraped the tread and I did all the rest of the work for the finished product. We managed about 8-12 tires a day, depending on the sizes. I left there in 2002. Now they have 8-10 employees and manage 32-40 tires a day. Great video! I like the use of subtitles rather than voice over because it allows me to listen to the machines working. I love the camera angles and explanations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this video to others. It's really interesting that these two methods for retreading coexist. I imagine the first method is cheaper but the seam in the tread would yield a less durable type, or perhaps lower speed rated, but it cooks dozens of tyres at a time in the oven, compared to the mould-cured method's one at a time.
Every year we start our corn vacation in East Germany at Van den Tillaart Agrar. Not only because these people are extremely hospitable and sociable, but also for the achievements this team is capable of. Every year they reserve an hour or two, and a whole bunch of machinery is set aside, to do something special. This year, all the harvesters are in attendance, and there are quite a few of them. We see the following harvesters. A John Deere 9800i, a 7750i, an 8600i, an 8400i and a 7350i. These feature three 12 rowers and 2 8 rowers. In the fantastic show put away by these folks, 52 rows of corn go off the field at a time. When at the end of the harvest all 10 transport vehicles are full, all 10 are unloaded in the mega-pit. Again a great start of the vacation, and a fantastic performance by these people with a lot of love for their profession and farm life!

For those of you who think Nebraska is boring, you need to see the hustle and bustle this time of year. All the equipment moving, elevators being prepared, trains moving grain. It's not for everyone but we all need to eat so please appreciate the farmers and pray for their success and safety! About one-handed door latch closing - put some thread locker onto a latch thread, so it doesn't turn easily. You need to pick up the trailer with the fifth wheel when you hook up. If the weight of the trailer isn't fully on the fifth wheel when you back into the hitch, it may not latch correctly, which you have already experienced apparently. This is very important so you don't loose your trailer while going down the road. Safety first my friends.
Looks like Gage got the job of driving the tractor home after the show. He even got a little video time and did a great job! Gage it looks like your really blessed to have a couple great teachers in Laura and Grant. You all make such a great team.... I love the old tractors. The first one I got to drive was a John Deere B with the fly wheel start. A friend of mine has a McCormick Deering, a Hart-Parr, and a Rumley Oil Pull on his farm. They don’t run, but are still pretty cool. First, super cool to see so many people coming to meet you. Second, I think you should give the old fuel trailer to your dad. 😉 I find it funny that the tractor was treated line royalty getting driven to the show, but then you had to drive it home yourself at the end.
I realize that you, Grant, and your dad are all incredibly busy doing your own thing. And probably the time that you do spend together is valuable enough that you don't want to think about filming it. But I really do miss the videos of the three of you working together (and/or having fun together.) So much fun to see!!! I wish I could "love" this video instead of just "like" it.
